Some say that passing a kidney stone hurts as bad as pregnancy. Of course, some pregnancies are more painful than others, but even if it’s in the same ballpark I won’t want anything to do with kidney stones.
Fortunately for you, we have a tea recipe that can help break up those stones if they are sitting inside your body as we speak.
Kidneys clean the blood by eliminating waste via urination.
For instance, if you eat a whole pizza with double pepperoni, ham, and olives, your kidneys will excrete more salt to create balance in your body’s system.
Kidney stones are made of minerals and salts and usually form when this system breaks down and you have concentrated urine (dark-colored). This type of urine creates an environment that allows the salts and minerals stick together and crystallize.
To be more specific, these troublesome stones are caused by concentrations of calcium, phosphorus, and oxalate in the urine.
Here are the 4 types of kidney stones:
- Calcium-based stones (75%)
- Struvite stones
- Uric acid stones
- Cystine stones (rare)
How to Avoid the Pain
As mentioned earlier, passing stones can be acutely painful, but no permanent damage is necessary if you can spot the symptoms in a timely fashion.
Symptoms of kidney stones include
- sharp pains in your anywhere in your torso or groin
- always need to pee
- painful urination
- pink, red, brown, cloudy or odorous pee
- find it hard to pee
Please see a doctor ASAP if you have any of these symptoms.
Parsley to the Rescue
Various ancient cultures have used parsley to treat kidney stones. The quick explanation of why this works is because parsley can prevent the absorption of salt into the kidney.
To double the effectiveness, using parsley as a tea boosts urination and helps cleanse the kidneys.
Parsley also has nutrients vital for kidney health (vitamin A, C, K, iron, and folate).
- Helps manage menstruation
- Lowers blood pressure
