Here is How to Kill the Bacteria that Causes Heartburn and Bloating

Helicobacter pylori is one of the most successful pathogen in human history.”  Many people have it living inside of their bodies for a long time without even knowing it. According to the CDC, about 66 % of the world’s population is infected with H. pylori.

As H. pylori is bad bacteria in gut, it is not surprising that probiotics can help combat this type of infection. According to a 2012 placebo-controlled pilot study published in the journal Inflammation and Allergy Drug Targets that looked at the effects of probiotics on this infection, the treatment with eight-strain probiotic supplement caused complete eradication of the H.pylori in 13 of the patients.

2. Black Seed

According to a 2010 research, patients given 2 grams of ground black seeds daily along with omeprazole (an acid blocker) experienced better results than the standard “triple therapy” of an acid blocker plus two different antibiotics.

3. Broccoli Sprouts

A research published in Digestive Diseases and Sciences discovered that 78% of the participants who ate broccoli sprouts twice daily for a week tested negative for H.pylori at the end of the study.

4. Green Tea

In vitro studies found “profound growth effects of green tea against Helicobacter and importantly, demonstrate that green tea consumption can prevent gastric mucosal inflammation if ingested prior to exposure to Helicobacter infection.”

5. Garlic

Consuming garlic on a regular basis helps kill H.pylori bacteria.  A 2016 study found that those eating about 3 grams of garlic with their lunch and dinner had a notable reduction in the Helicobacter pylori bacteria.

6. Propolis

It has been scientifically shown that propolis contains more than 300 natural compounds, such as sequiterpene quinines, steroids, coumarins, phenolic aldehydes, and amino acids which inhibit the growth of H.pylori bacteria.

7. Herbs

Extract of Agrimonia eupatoria, Salvia officinalis (Sage), Hydrastis canadensis (Goldenseal) and Filipendula ulmaria (Meadowsweet) have been shown to inhibit the growth Helicobacter pylori bacteria.

8. Reduce Stress

Stress makes the symptoms worse! Also, people with high amounts of stress and anxiety have shown poorer immune functioning and higher rates of H. pylori infections and stomach inflammation/stomach ulcers.

9. General H. pylori Diet

Eat more of:

  • Flax and chia seeds also rich in omega-3s
  • Raw honey, especially manuka honey
  • Cruciferous vegetables, especially broccoli and broccoli sprouts
  • Berries, specifically blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, and bilberry
