This Is Why You Should Never Let Your Dog Lick You!

Maybe you think that’s cute – big, wet and slobbery tongue comes out of your dog’s jaw and gently lapping on the face.

Well, what if I told you that something very sinister about it?

No, I did not say your beloved Fido tries to harm. Your little (or big) furry friend sincerely trying to show affection.

Too bad the same can not be said for all the bacteria in the dog’s tongue.

Are the dog’s mouth really cleaner than the human mouth?

I believe that it is not

Marty Becker, author of Chicken Soup for the dog, says:

“All you have to do is look, watch, smell, and you will realize that this is not true.

They are attacking the trash can. You know, we give each other a kiss on the cheek when we say hello, they give each other a peck on the rear end. ”

John Oxford, professor of virology and bacteriology at Queen Mary, University of London, you do not know how many bacteria your dog’s snout and mouth can handle.

“It’s not just what takes place in the saliva. Dogs spend half of his life with his nose in the awkward corners or hovering over dog feces and they muzzles are full of bacteria, viruses and bacteria of all kinds.”

These viruses and bacteria can cause conditions that may be hazardous to human health.

One woman from England got sick from an infection from her Italian greyhound saliva. She did not even realize anything was wrong until she was on the phone with a relative and started noticing her speech slurring. Her health quickly degrade. She recovered with two weeks of intensive care and a lot of antibiotics.

Blood tests showed the infection was due to Capnocytophaga canimorsus bacterium that is commonly found in the mouth of dogs and cats.

This is not the only disease Fido can pass on to you through the dog kisses.

There is also and a ringworm infection.

Ringworm infection is one of the simplest diseases to your dog to pass you by smooching.

MRSA, anyone?

MRSA infections in people who produce lesions as ugly one above, can be caused by just one lick of your dog.

Dogs can carry around these bacteria with very little effect on their health, but when the owner comes in contact with it … is not good

Staphylococcus aureus

Staphylococcus aureus principle is very like MRSA.

Now think carefully Will you catch the disease from your dog that leaves you with one foot and mutilated hands? I say no.

Seriously, avoid those kisses.
