Never Use Apple Cider Vinegar If You Have These Medical Conditions

Apple cider vinegar has potent anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, which can be used in various health issues, including allergies, colds, obesity, acid reflux, and much more.

It is also extremely useful as a natural beauty care product as well.

Yet, you should use it carefully as in some cases, it might do more harm than good, especially when combined with some medications or in case you suffer from certain medical conditions.

Hence, you should avoid it in the following cases:

  1. Insulin

Insulin is taken in the case of diabetes, in order to regulate blood sugar levels. However, apple cider vinegar can also control blood sugar levels, but together, these two might lower potassium levels and blood sugar levels.

  1. Digoxin Or Lanoxin

Digoxin and Lanoxin are common medications in the case of heart disease, but if takes along with apple cider vinegar, they might be harmful.

Vinegar will prevent the absorption of potassium, and thus raise the risk of side effects such as diarrhea, mood swings, vomiting, and dizziness.

  1. Diuretics

Diuretics, like Diuril, Lasix, Microzidea and Thalitone are taken in the case of bloating, as a way to treat water retention. However, they might lead to dehydration, and apple cider vinegar increases this risk.

You should also avoid apple cider vinegar in the case of:

  1. Diabetes

Apple cider vinegar and insulin both lower potassium levels in the body,  so if taken in a combination, they might cause serious health issues.

  1. Pregnancy Or Nursing

As the effects of apple cider vinegar in the case of pregnancy are still unknown, it is advised that pregnant women and nursing mothers should avoid its use.

  1. Post menopause

Postmenopausal women often have reduced bone density, and the property of apple cider vinegar to lower potassium levels in the body might weaken the bones. Therefore, excessive amounts of apple cider vinegar might lead to osteoporosis in these women.
