Consuming vegetables as part of your diet is extremely important, as they are great sources of many important nutrients. One vegetable which provides numerous health benefits is beetroot. This hard round veggie with dark purple color combines perfectly with lots of juices and salads.
Its earthy flavor might not be the most favorite one among kids, but its high amounts and wide range of vitamins and minerals make it one of the healthiest vegetables on the earth. Some of them are B vitamins, copper, iron, potassium, magnesium, and manganese.
There are various ways you can include beets in your diet, such as raw and grated in salads, or juiced in a combination with other veggies.
If you combine it with carrot and apple, you’ll get a powerful juice that contains an abundance of healthy properties. Some of them are prevention of intestinal obstruction, burning fat in the liver, and improving the vision. Other important benefits of beet are:
- Improved blood circulation, which will protect you from the health threats from high blood pressure
- Boosted energy levels, which will stay high throughout the day
- Improved mood and relaxation, thanks to the presence of tryptophan and betaine
- Protection from free radical damage, thus from chronic diseases. This feature of beets is due to the new class of antioxidants called betalains.
As you can see, the health benefits of beet are immense, so try to include it in your kids’ diet.
Beet, Apple, Carrot Juice Recipe
Not only that it’s delicious, but this nutritional powerhouse is a great way to detox your body.
- 3 small beets
- 1 apple
- 2 large carrots
Before beginning, wash all the ingredients well. Cut them in pieces and put them together in a blender. Blend until you get the desired consistency. Cheers to your health!
