We all know that water is good for our bodies. But you’ll get more health benefits if you drink alkaline water.
Most people’s bodies are acidic due to eating unhealthy foods and stress. High acidity causes fatigue, digestive problems and increases the risk of cancer.
Drinking alkaline water will make your body less acidic and consequently protect it from the health problems mentioned above.
How alkaline water helps the body
Research shows that the foods we eat affect pH levels in the body. pH is a figure used to determine alkalinity or acidity. It’s ranked from 0 to 14, 14 being high alkalinity, 0 being high acidity, and 7 is neutral.
Note that different organs have different pH levels. For instance, the stomach has a pH of 1.5 to 3.5 because it needs high acidity to digest food.
The pH of these organs is greatly determined by the foods we eat (but not entirely). And more importantly, research shows that diet-induced acidosis may increase the risk of cancer. Research further shows that cancer cannot spread in an alkaline environment.
Now, since we know foods that promote alkalinity in the body, we can use them to make alkaline water.
But let me first give you a few pointers to determine if your diet is too acid.
Your diet is acidic if:
You eat a lot of sugar and highly processed foods.
You drink a lot of alcohol.
You eat a lot of meat.
Your food has a lot of pesticide residue.

How to make alkaline water at home
What you need:
- 2 liters of purified water
- 1 tbsp. of Himalayan salt
- 1 organic lemon
- A large glass jar
- Pour the purified water into the large glass jar.
- Slice the lemon into small pieces and put them in the water (without squeezing them).
- Add the Himalayan salt.
- Cover the jar and leave it at room temperature for 12-24 hours.
- Drink the alkaline water in the morning before breakfast.
If you drink alkaline water every morning you’ll be more energetic, have less digestive issues and lower risk of cancer.
